Military Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program

March 17th, 2023 by

Kia America has launched a program that will provide military veterans the opportunity to become a Kia qualified technician and veteran-specific assistance through the training. The program is an apprenticeship that includes Kia-technical training along with a follow-up by program managers to support long term success. The apprenticeship program is competency based and one year.

The program will result in providing the veterans with Kia service technician training and certification. This will then connect these trained Veterans with Kia retailers for career opportunities.

Greg Silvestri (vice president, service operations, Kia America) “Kia is proud to provide highly specialized career opportunities to military Veterans in conjunction with ERS and our nationwide network of retailers,” “We thank our Veterans for their service and look forward to helping them leverage their skill set for civilian jobs.”

Highlights of the Kia Technician Apprenticeship Program:

  • Designed specifically for Veterans and their needs
  • One-year competency-based apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification for eligible Veterans
  • Access to tools, equipment, vehicles, and training needed to complete the program
  • Potential full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer
  • Eligible Veterans may apply for and receive a GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during their apprenticeship (pending approval by the US Government)
