Kia Rio Wins 2023 Best Value Award from Cars.com
Cars.com has awarded the Kia Rio with the 2023 Best Value for New Cars award!
To identify the new vehicles that offer the best value for the money, Cars.com editors considered all models that fall under their respective segments’ median price among Cars.com dealers; luxury brands were excluded from the data in the interest of affordability. In order to be a finalist, a vehicle must offer an automatic transmission and gas-powered models must take regular fuel. All-electric vehicles had an additional requirement of a minimum range.
All finalists must also offer the following set of features as standard or available: Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning. Among qualifying vehicles that met the initial pricing and features criteria, the final list was narrowed down to those with the most affordable median prices.
Here’s what Cars.com editors had to say about the Rio:
“The 2023 Kia Rio is one of the least expensive paths to new-car ownership. This front-wheel-drive, five-seat subcompact is available in sedan and four-door hatchback body styles, with an entry-level LX version for the sedan and better-equipped S trims of both the sedan and hatchback. Because the hatchback offers slightly more passenger and cargo space, we think it’s the smarter pick. Every Rio is powered by a 120-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Fuel economy is great, though acceleration takes patience.”
2023 Kia Rio S:
