The announcement follows Kia’s award as the highest ranked mass market brand in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for the fifth consecutive year, with the Soul recognized among the top 10 vehicles in the industry1.

Kia Motors Produces Three Millionth Vehicle in U.S.

Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) reached another milestone yesterday evening when the plant’s three millionth vehicle – a white 2020 Telluride SX Prestige – rolled off the assembly line in West Point, Georgia. 
 
Representing an investment of more than $1.1 billion, KMMG began mass production on Nov. 16, 2009 and today produces more than 40 percent of all Kia vehicles sold in the United States.

As announced on September 4, 2019, Kia and members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers (representing a majority of automobile sales in the United States) have ratified a voluntary commitment to make rear seat occupant warning systems standard or available in most vehicles by 2025.

Kia's parent company has developed new Vest EXoskeleton (VEX), a wearable robot created to assist industrial workers who spend long hours working in overhead environments.
 
The VEX enhances productivity and reduces fatigue of industrial workers by imitating the movement of human joints to boost load support and mobility. The wearable vest the polycentric axis – combining multiple pivot points with multi-link muscular assistance – to function, eliminating the need for a battery.

Kia's parent company, Hyundai Motor Group, has developed a new prototype electric scooter. Building on its initial concept presented at CES 2017, the new model boasts rear-wheel drive, a highly-capable lithium battery and stylish front and rear lights.
 
The latest concept is part of a future plan to enable first- and last-mile mobility through integrating the scooter with future Kia vehicles. When mounted on a vehicle, the scooter is charged automatically using electricity produced while driving, ensuring that the user can complete their journey seamlessly.
